next on the 'to do list' (right after rowena galam haha) is to buy jill scott's album 'who is jill scott?'. no it's not a rhetorical q - that's what it's called dammit. wow, what a voice & what a poet. didn't realise that she co produced you got me by the roots!! being my most favouritest chilling out song ever in the entire world, that instantly puts her in the good books.. wikked jill scott lyrics:
He(she!) had me tongue tied I could hear his(her!) rhythm in my thoughts I was his(her!) sharp, his(her!) horn section, his(her!) boom and his(her!) Dip And he(she!) was my love" - 'love rain'
"The mistake was made / Love slipped from my lips, dripped down my chin and landed in his(her!) lap and us became new" - 'love rain'
"You better back down before you get smacked down You better chill - 'gettin in the way'

i've heard about 'pirate stations' being prominent in the uk & this little article explains how to set one up, how to smuggle transmitters into the uk, how to avoid the cops & the like haha. i guess these stations are the only way of establishing a name for yourself if you don't have enough money, or just to show your love for music. it allows you to broadcast on the radiowaves without having to deal with license fees or whatever is involved in running a legit station. pretty interesting shtuff.
boreborebored. kinda sums up the day right there. missed out on the sales, missed out on the beach, just killing time until i start whinging about how there's work tomorrow. :p one good thing came out of today, i think we've got the brooklyn hotel as venue of choice for the new year celebrations.
guess what, i'm in lab w/ the internet.. it lets me hook up to radio 1 all the way in the uk which means being able to listen to the dreem team on sunday nights. some other nice stations: rhythm fm, triple j, world wide fm. & if garagepressure is right in announcing that home will introduce a 2step room in 2001 (starting 3rd feb), it's going to be a good year..

go to doorguard.com.au if you think someone is out to get you. it's got the doorguard (of course) where you can lock yourself from the inside of desired room, the amazing doorcam security door monitor with it's unique wide-angled lens so you can see the bloke crouching under the door about to whack your knees in with a 1 metre pipe, & who could forget the doorknob alarm that makes a noise when it moves haha..erm.. good night.

about thirty seconds ago i didn't know how to spell "happiness" thus the poor results i got from searching for powderfinger's "my hapines". nice song. always the case when it reminds you of someone.
i'm ripping off an excerpt from a wired article on twostep. i lab it, it makes it sound edible enough to eat.
"2-step transforms garage into a kind of slow-motion jungle---a langorous frenzy of micro-breakbeats, hesitations and hyper-syncopations; moments when the beat seems to pause, poised, and hold its breath. In its simplest form, it does this by removing every second and fourth kick from the 4-to-the-floor pulse, creating a lurching, falter-funk feel. More adventurous 2-step producers program irregular kick-drum patterns which syncopate with the bassline, akin to Timbaland's double-time or triple/quadruple/quintuple-time kicks"
on the laptop at the moment.. that makes three computers networked. yes our plan to take over the internet cafe industry is slowly taking shape. next time stalker boy visits he'll be hit with an hourly rate which will hopefully prevent him from coming back! listening to a remix of 3rd core - mindless & broken in the background. amazingly loverly song, nice strings & vocals.. mj cole always does heavenly things with his production (his site is pretty classy too.. but not much in there at the moment). & you know what would make my day? quite possibly my year.. would be to get tickets for vibes on a summer's day in 2001. mj's coming to australia! i'm biting my nails in anticipation.. between now & then i gotta try & convince others to come with me. oh jesus.

i guess you're expecting some kind of explanation on as to how the holiday went (who am i kidding, you couldn't care less right?). fact is, i hate explaining stuff & secondly, where the hell do i begin?! it didn't start off very promising. our scheduled plane for qld was delayed about an hour or so because the bloody thing got struck by lightning. eventually we were asked to board another one which is just as well because there was no way i was going in some defective piece of aircraft. we stayed eight days all up, the weather was good for the most part & the resort we stayed at wasn't bad at all considering it was for free. can't believe that we only spent one day at the beach, the rest of the time was divided between swimming at the resort pool, stalking the ladies with andycam(c), checking out the clubs & looking for something besides noodles to eat. i'm getting the film developed later today so expect a pictorial or something.

two more days, two more nights. hooray for surfer's paradise! the only place i've seen where chicks go to church in bikinis. then again i haven't been to much places, but being away from sydney is something i've been looking forward to since.. forever. the budget's set. food=minimal. drinks=priority. i tell ya we're lucky we got free accomodation for 7 days otherwise this wouldn't have happened. *cheers* to qld!
almost lost the post on this bl*gger program. thank goodness i always copy text before posting & publishing.

that cruise was way below par. $45 for leftover foodstuffs, for pre-mixed sangria, for crappy seating arrangements, for going back & forth the harbour, for hardly enough south american dancing girls, for being embarassed in front of the whole boat. but i won a free dinner in the end :p must... find... sleep... where are youuu?
i bought the australian release of artful dodger's re rewind: back by public demand thinking that it was unmixed versions of the songs. well you can have a guess what they turned out to be. :(
