cool, finally sorted out the music page. all the current downloadable tunes are there under "hear it" :) craig david is starting to be heard in australia. finally saw the single that made him big in uk, "fill me in". 5 different mixes, the video clip & apartment 543 which is not released on the album, it was worth paying retail price i suppose. my fave mix is with the artful dodger touch, so i'll probably rip it, even though it's been floating around the internet for at least 200,000 years. ooh, madison avenue's album out on the 2nd of october. that's on a monday!! that's according to their website, but probably the 3rd because monday is a public holiday.

yesterday i got the pictures developed where i was at the basketball game. they all turned out worse than sh!thouse. i think that the reason behind this is that flash wasn't allowed in the dome.. why they did this remains a mystery. it causes a distraction? you mean the 10 other people already on the court aren't a distraction? distract this pal! *pokes tongue out* really though, the main reason they didn't turn out is that i'm a crap photographer. no knowledge of composition, lighting, can't remember what shutter speed & apertures to set. film? wtf is that?! boy.. if this is going to be my hobby i'd better start learning something soon. i bought a pentax mz-50 at a second hand store not long ago so it didn't come with a manual. it's been two months since i ordered that damn manual & still no news from the store! i should always remind myself to have spare film also.. i only had 12 or so left when i got into the game. if you've ever been around sydney these past few days there are these people selling film, & their backpacks is like a giant roll of kodak..the girls look cute with their giant film backpack & yellow hats haha.

wow, i had a peanut shell embedded on my foot for what must have been at least 2 hours before realising it. sorry, but sometimes you just have to share profound moments like these :) anyhoo, it was cd shopping time today (you guessed it.. pay day!) this would be the second week in a row buying a drum & bass cd. as long as the second hand stores have em i might as well keep buying. this was a pretty good find though, a 1999 aphrodite promo. i saw some tracks off it floating around on napster but i'll repost it anyway since this is the kind of drum & bass that's full wikked! fave cuts so far are 'king of the beats" & "woman that rolls". on the d&b tip still, the crackhouse posted kosheen's album..their track "hide u" is a nice piece of vocal d&b. beefchow is also a very reliable place to download some good tracks. check out the album cover below, it links to the track listing. besides that, all i bought was the single of gambafreaks - down down down. got some nice versions, including a klubb kings mix.

f#%uc*k a huge clap of thunder just freaked me out.. it just made me wonder, what happens to cable modems in the event of thunder/lightning storms? would we have to unplug it? lucky i'm just about to go to sleep..

i just watched being john malkovich not too long ago. still confused about the ending, but that's got something to do with viewing web pages at the same time as watching a movie. talk about multi-skilled. i can even type with one hand - while eating .. you gutter minded individual :p that movie is so cool & quite funny as well, it's just one twisted kind of love triangle. lotte & chris, husband & wife falls in love with the same woman maxine, but maxine doesn't like the husband. she only likes the wife, but only when the wife is inside john malkovich's mind. okay, so it's more a love square because everyone wants malkovich. the husband likes him because he can see through john's eyes while he is making love to maxine. maxine likes him because she sees lotte through him. & lotte, well she likes malkovich cos maxine does. haha..

the idea of discovering a portal into someone elses mind is amazing in itself, but going into the portal of your own mind? just thinking about it drives me insane.. & the scene where john malkovich goes into his own mind is pretty funny & disturbing at the same time. i wonder if someone's controlling my mind right now. i wonder if malkovich is making me type this to give himself a cheap plug, cos he was really good in that movie playing a possessed version of himself.

holy baloney, i know one of the polish athletes that i ran into at the markets now. he was leszek blanik & he won bronze on the men's vault earlier today. omfg, i shook hands w/ a medal winner, i'll never wash these hands again!! anyway, i'm over it now.

i was just reading iblog.com & came across the link about digital slr cameras. take digital photo's without compromising the flexibility of slr camera's! i personally would love to have something like that.. the amount of crappy photo's i take really hurts the wallet buying all that film :p

last thursday's game between usa & lithuania was okay. i can't remember much of what happened, let alone the score because i was so much in a daze just soaking in the atmosphere & the buzz around the dome. even in a game involving no aussies, there were still supporters in the green & gold, but that's what you'd expect :p. it was a thrill to see the athletes i admire from the other side of the world, to be playing right before us & being only a few metres away. the dream team were a bit messy though, & missed too many easy shots. i'm gonna walk around olympic park & hopefully run into some famous people, like pieter van den hoogen moogen boogen..he rules. i shook hands with some polish gymnasts while i was down at the markets but they don't count cos i don't even know what their names are, & they were speaking in polish to a friend.

madison avenue dish out another track filled with funky disco goodness. everything you need is their latest single, a lot more laid back than its predecessors but still danceable, & no sign of man-hating anywhere. i'll probably buy the single just to support them & so should you if you like the tracks. speaking of which, i finally earned some money to finance my cd buying fetish. second hand cd stores are the best place to go searching for the older stuff, but i walked away with krust - coded language, the artful dodger feat romina johnson - movin too fast single, and lonyo - summer of love single. actually i already got summer of love (from the same place even) but this has better mixes.

there are some genuinely nice people out there on the web, especially the one's who offer free hosting. i mean, that is costing them money.. and for the hostees.. it's free (if that wasn't obvious enough already). so cheers mike. dubstep.digitalrice.com is coming up real soon :)

i'm pretty happy, my uncle has a spare ticket to one of the olympic events. & it's none other than the dream team playing against lithuania in the basketball. when the tickets were being sold i was given three places but i couldn't pay for the bloody things.. come to think of it, i don't even have enough money to get to work today. hopefully my pay has come through, otherwise i'll be really annoyed (not to mention really embarassed) for not being able to come in. anyway tomorrows' the day of the game, should be fun!

can anyone be so kind as to help? i'm surfing around when a page that i stumbled into a long long time ago comes to mind. just bad luck that the url escapes me. it's basically a forum where everyone displays their unsent letters whether it was supposed to reach their significant other, a close friend, or whatever. please mail me if you have any idea where it is. thanks..

don't know why i've decided to stay up all night tonight. it hasn't been a very productive few hours either, & in a matter of time it'll be sunrise & time to get ready for work. i'll just have to catch up on sleep there. anyway i have a feeling the next 2 weeks or so are going to be laid back in the office. last week they put up two television sets to keep up with events. today's gonna be the first real test the trains are going to have trying to cope with all the commuters. all i want is a seat in the back by the window. no one catches you nodding off there :)

garage pressure needs to be credited for trying to educate the sydney masses in uk garage. i'm really interested now into what the nights are like & the type of crowd that rocks up. it's probably true that people here don't know about uk garage beyond "the artful dodger", but it just needs a bit of publicity, appreciation & support. sometimes i feel like the only person that listens to it here. people will either go, "what the hell is that" or "change it to something i know" & that type of close mindedness really annoys me. besides finding more about them, grab the twostep makeover of wamdue project - king of my castle.

talk about hyper tracks. basement jaxx - jump n shout (stanton warriors mix) gets my vote for mp3 for today*. classic twostep remix on the ragga tip. oh & below is a translation of what this guy is trying to say.

A fellow shouted at me in the street once. He said quite a few insulting things about Basement Jaxx. But then, when I found out a bit more about this chap, I realised he was a bit dim. As it says in the Proverbs, "A just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief."

Our one-off, specially prepared acetate discs cause a real storm in nightclubs. People in the audience are driven to tears, and shout out Basement Jaxx' name.

Yes, we make truly great music for one and all. People even come up to me (great MC that I am) begging for more. They love the way our music is unconstrained and rugged. When they hear it, they jump and shout as if someone's just scored a goal.

Just look how they're enjoying themselves on the dancefloor! The atmosphere is great and the music is excellent. We're coming to make your life better wherever you live. We jump and shout and tell people to be positive, you know the old motto: "Live the life you love and love the life you live."

Certain cads say they're really rough and tough, but actually they're nothing more than criminals, the way they shoot their guns like they want to kill everyone. If they were really hard, no-one would have to die.

They go on about the Bible and suchlike, but these foolish chaps will never know the rules because they never attended the school of Basement Jaxx. If they did, we'd have prepared to tutor them for a mere five pence, thereby ensuring they wouldn't end up as a murder victim.

The thing about us is we are very well educated, we went to good schools and got A+ in history and home economics. And we love music, that's why we're doing such innovative things with the garage genre.

But having said that, if any chaps want to try and fight us, they're as good as dead, mark my words.

You've got to jump and shout!

i love neat weblogs. they get me excited the way a gorgeous person walking the opposite direction catches your eye. you don't know a thing about them, but you sure as hell would like to get to know them. i think most people go through the same process when finding a regular page to read. no one can deny being drawn to an attractive mystique, so you read more into it. the text you read is their personality, & that draws your interest. aren't we clever, we can look beyond the superficiality of design & read them for what they are. even the most well thought out design, if it doesn't have anything to say, will probably get your attention for a whole two seconds. & then what? then again, there are those places where their character is so strong, that you don't give two shits about what the page looks like. but i think what i meant to say was, i love neat weblogs. mine sucks. and i have weblog envy.

i don't know the entire story behind it, but it's sad hearing of the smashing pumpkins breaking up. they did leave the fans with one last surprise though. machina II - the friends & enemies of modern music. encouraged bootlegging by mr. corgan himself? i love it.

5:04:00 PM [x]

cover band is a cool little idea. it's for everyone who dreams of becoming an artist. so go on & submit your own cover, i'm kind of tempted to do one just for fun. if i were in a rock band, i'd call it shudder to think just because it sounds cool, but i think that name is taken already. otherwise it would be settle for nothing as a testament to rage against the machine's greatness.

gosh, talk about a trip down memory lane. well, i don't remember that much but it was enough to stir childhood memories of the thundercats. when i was around six, one of my uncles would visit us on the weekends, but man, this wasn't just any normal type of visit. he would give us thundercat chips & 50 centavos to buy lollies & i would just be waiting impatiently by the door the moment i knew he was coming until he walked up to the damn door. i don't know whether i liked the thundercats because of the chips or vice-versa but it sure made me happy as hell. see those chips had bonus cards in them & you would get to learn about your favourite characters. lion-o, panthro, mummra, cheetara, wow i'm getting excited just listing their stupid names. too bad all i can remember is what the article wrote about. i need more trips to memory lane. thundercats, ho! *sigh*

hey, so i may not have been following the torch, unlikely that i will turn up to any of the events, will probably gawk at all the visitors & watch as the public transport system goes down to shit (like it hasn't already) but i still have the olympic spirit. this is the unofficial anthem for the games. regurgitator - crush the loosers. this is so incredibly cheesy, yet i keep listening to it. why don't you?

- j3z
11:59:00 PM [x]

i got timo maas - dirty trancing about 5 months ago & just started listening to it again. just reminded me of how amazing he is. it isn't all his songs mind you, it's a mix but you can definately tell it's timo style. the mixing isn't anything special, although it's fairly smooth, but the song selection is good. he brings all the best elements of techno, house & trance together. my picks: der scheiber & his killer remix of doom's night. that was downloaded from dancecity but it isn't available anymore. e-mail me if you want it posted.

there's some bad news for the mp3 dance community. tuffcub, elmo & dj motion, three well respected members have had their sites closed down by the bpi (the british phonographic industry) for violating copyright laws of musicians, etc. it's absolute bullshit but i don't think i was the only one expecting it to happen. good things never seem to last.

greets again. that last entry put me in panic mode so i kinda overpacked in the end. oh well we're all over it now. came back yesterday after two days of fun in the snow, and let me tell you snowboarding rules! nevermind that the only things i learnt were falling arse first & head first, it really is good fun. you'll see some photo's of the trip later (not necessarily of me falling arse or head first)

music wise. you need to see elmolicious. it's an awesome update, just have a peek at the new albums section. you'll be seeing & breathing ibiza. my pick though is madison avenue - who the hell are you (sub sub extended club mix). someone help me with that loop. it's killing me!

it's pretty cheesy using a template for the website, but this one rocks. so until i can think of a design, we all have to make do.

here's something that might keep you busy. fruityloops. nice music program where you can design your own loops. it's really easy to pick up on so give it a try. if there are any that come out amazingly mind-numbingly good.. you'll be the first to hear it!

currently downloading roni size's soon to be released album 'in the mode'. downloadable from the crackhouse. so much respect goes out to the contributors of that site. there is something there for everybody, all the damn time. anyhoo, this album almost exactly follows the same format as the 'newforms' album in 1997, this time though with a very distinct hip hop influence.. & i haven't even finished listening to it. ghetto celebrity borrows method man, & beat boxing this time around is none other than rahzel! it's fuckin wicked i tell ya. :)
