good luck to those weblog people doing that 24 hour thing. it's all good updating your journal for 24 hours straight but another thing to mantain your readers' interest. personally, i don't need to write every thirty minutes to be un-interesting :) all for a good cause though.

oh.my.gosh! anyone remember tetrinet? before the cable modems & discovering that little game called counter-what's-it-called, this was what prompted me to waste most of my time on-line. i just ran into a winlist which shows i'm still ranked 227 after being idle for 341.8 days. not bad eh? the highest rank i got was around the 70's, i just couldn't compete with the hardcore tetris players who probably had gameboys & practised while on the trains haha.

forgot how funny the jjj breakfast show was until yesterday morning on the train. they were ripping into ray 'rabbit' warren on his stupid commentary during the australian swim team's disqualification on wednesday ("aww..come on!"). then they toyed with the idea of what would happen if big brother moved to channel 9. it'd have john burgess as big burgo. lol. he'd be throwing them catch phrases & offering them nuggets for dinner if they got it right. lol! then they had ray rabbit warren commentating on big brother & that just made me laugh out loud like an idiot on the train. lucky my stop was next. i don't know why i remember this now.

i wonder if optometrist lady was pissed off at me this evening? i had to pick up my contacts & they had to show me how to put them on. fark. those things are slippery little suckers! it took a whole 20 minutes just to get one of those son of bitches in, & another 5 to get them out! & poor her just standing there watching my futile attempts. at one stage she was on her toes & tongue half hanging out anticipating when it would finally get in place. she made me blink :/ reminder to self - wake up 25 minutes earlier tomorrow.

today i saw a friend win $60 on the pokies, only to lose $200 just as fast. luckily she managed to salvage some money back in the end, but it just goes to show that gambling is bad, mmkay! it's funny how that can put me off gambling, but those anti-smoking ads do jack all to me when it comes giving up the ciggies (denial anyone?) first day back at tafe today *gasp* i'm slightly annoyed at the guy to girl ratio in the class.. where did all the chicks go? seems like they all went to the next stage & all the dumbass guys were left behind :( but of course that wasn't the reason why i decided to go back to day class.. yeah... another annoying thing is the fact that i can't listen to garage pressure on rhythm fm tonight, the media player isn't loading it up for some reason.. what a waste of time, should have gone to sleep instead of waiting. after all class starts at 8:30 am tomorrow. the joys of being a student again!

the past few days i couldn't be bothered posting not to mention being busy with other things. last friday saw the funeral for the gonzales'. it was a pretty emotional time & i admire sef for being so strong through the whole thing. you know it just hit me when he stood up in front of everyone for his father's eulogy that this guy, my age, is now left without a family. don't wanna get depressed too much here. the day went from one emotional extreme to the other. had to go back to the city because i foolishly left my driving license with a record store. i picked up a mad classic, 'stanton warriors - da virus' but just before i was about to make the purchase i ran into none other than stalker boy! i shouldn't have told him about my turntables, because then he might have not turned up to our house today.. thought that he had finally forgotten about our place but he is now back! *hits self with an orange repeatedly* had to rush back home after that to get ready for dinner. carne station was good fun, there's something funny about mussels & uncooked sausages. to top the night off we ended up going clubbing where i road tested the new barbeque scent i picked up from carne station. the girls love it mate! from friday morning i hadn't had any sleep at all until late saturday. i'm surprised i didn't doze off while ice skating yesterday. more crap later..

what can i say about sunday. it was rorted! i organised to go down to raunch at the shelbourne hotel with some peoples. what happens when we got there? the place is bloody closed. it only opened a couple of weeks ago, & if you see that flyer on the link, it specifically states 'every sunday afternoon til midnight'. what the hell kind of advertising is that!! after eating chips & drinking over-priced coffee, it was decided that we'd go down the cube & have some of those alcoholic slushies. they were closed too.. what a rort$! anyway i could go into detail about the rest of the day & how rorted it was, like when we went to the shark hotel for $2 drinks only to find out they were only for schooners & selected spirits (no fruit tingles this time), but i won't.

it's a bit after 7 in the morning & i'm thinking about starburst fruit chews. man if ever i had a junk food addiction that would be it, & also that willy wonka mud slide (the proper name escapes me). most mornings i buy a packet of starbursts, open it, stuff them all in my drawer & eat it throughout the day during work. i thought you would like to know that. also, cherry is the best flavour :p if you check its website they have a monthly competition where they give away a box of starburst if you explain in 25 words or less your favourite flavour & why. might join it hehe.

this guy i used to know in high school, well his family were murdered in their own home yesterday. it's fucked up as it is reading about death in the news, but when it happens to someone you know/knew, it's a totally different feeling. okay so in the end i didn't get along with him, but they were really an image of a close family. i'd been to his house a number of times, and we'd sit around the dinner table & they'd actually talk & ask each other how their day was. that concept just doesn't work in our house, so i was envious of that. the reason behind the tragedy still remains a mystery. i don't know what to think, what could be the motive behind it? was it random or was there a reason behind it? we'll see what happens in the next couple of days. article 1, article 2.

yesterday i wanted to kill some time after work so i walked around by myself just scouring the 2nd hand stores for tunes. the shops eventually closed so i was left in the rain & crappy cold weather. which reminds me, i hate taking public transport during rain & crappy weather, people really smell. anyhow, determined to waste some more time.. i walked into an internet cafe to play some counterstike. omg, i went to an internet cafe to play games. can you imagine the implications this will have in todays conversations? "hey man, so what did you get up to last night?" "nuttin much, just chilled at the net cafe playing some cs" *crickets*. nerd alert! take this man to the nerdatorium! haha, my addiction with counter strike has led me to go this far. another reason is telstra bigpond capping our data transfer to three gigs a month. telstra bigpond are officially derbrains!

what an incredibly boring weekend. didn't get the mixtape done on time so i didn't pay a visit to the dj's.. another opportunity wasted there. i guess the only highlight was happy hour at market city tavern friday night. a couple of months ago there was a stabbing there & i was left to wonder whether we were sitting at the exact scene of the crime. freaky shit m0it. anyhoo we also discovered a new shotty called 'fruit tingle'. yummy

okay might be ahead of myself here but some family friends have lined up another winter expedition late august! last year i posted some photos of the perisher trip where we had fun being bogged down in soft snow, being stuck in chair lifts & destroying t-bars on the way up the slopes. it's all happening again & hopefully we get the hang of snowboarding a lot quicker this time around.. yes.. more time on board, less time eating snow hehe

it was my mum's birthday two days ago, and i didn't even get a present for her :( felt so bad that i decided to track one down last night, thank goodness for thursday night shopping. end result: this cool little crystal teddy bear. the girl that served me had her grubby hands all over it so it probably needs wiping or something haha. also had my weekly (daily?!) trip to the record stores. it was disappointing this time as the stores only had a few shipments come in but picked up a few nevertheless, including the dancefloor dub of cleptomanics - all i do (bump n flex remix). tight remix that one.
