April 30, 2002 osmosis jones what the? it was one of those movies where i've listened to the soundtrack before actually watching it. & if you look through its tracklist, there's music by sunshine anderson, r. kelly, brandy, craig david, de la soul. i was expecting some kind of ghetto love story! but alas, it's only your typical part real/part animated movie where a white blood cell (osmosis) teams up with a cold tablet (drixenol) to try & fight off an evil virus (thrax) threatening to take over frank's body.
yeah, it totally wasn't something i was expecting but it was a pleasant surprise. it's freaking brilliant with the whole outside world/inside the body parallels. i think chris rock's voice suited his character, & drix is my new superhero. the funniest part has to be the live action scene with frank (bill murray) conversing with his daughter's teacher. all i can say is that it involves a huge zit & while pretty gross, had me laughing for a bit =D
tried going to work today, but i'm still feeling yuck so i left at about 12:30. my throats killing & my head still hurts. maybe i should finally see a doctor.

aoisghasoigh. gah! my forehead is throbbing like i've just been hit on the head with a hammer - so i'm staying away from work today. aerhafjaerjaerh

hey check out the new song to listen to. carmen mcrea - how long has this been going on (mj cole remix). it's so nice - sunday afternoon vibes.
finally renewed my license yesterday, but i'm thinking of losing it on purpose just to get a new mug shot on there. most of the afternoon was spent walking around pitt street mall. just shoppin around looking for a shirt - but $100 later i walked out with a jumper which my friend described as being 'gay'. so what if it's a baby blue colour. geeez!
went out to booty bar again but we couldn't get in for free this time. i have to keep bitching about r&b clubs & how it's always the same tunes week in, week out. a typical set includes anything by ja rule, 112 - dance with me, red red wine & arrested development to show their old school credibility. but then again, who cares when you're pissed right?
April 27, 2002 listening to: todd edwards - restless soul last night was fun helping out at elite 2002. elite is an all ages/all styles dance competition & the winner wins a whopping $400 & adoration by hundreds of screaming teenage girls. not fun when people decide to cause trouble but that was sort of expected anyway when you hold an open age event in the middle of blacktown. but overall everyone was pretty well behaved - must have been our security presence ahha. anyway, skb won the competition. they have a ten year old kid who can bust flares & headspins - i think that won the fans over.
i've been pretty occupied these past few days, but haven't had the time to document them on here. i doubt anyone cares anyway haha. i'm off to renew my drivers license & to have some much needed retail therapy.

damn.. road trips are cool once in a while. it's just a bitch sitting in a car for 2 and a half hours & then having to endure the same thing on the way back home. hunter valley is a wicked place though & the weather was good to us for most part of the day. i'm pretty sure the couple have decided on a place, & what a nice place it is. even i'm looking forward to the wedding now. i took a few photos & i'm gonna develop it tomorrow -hopefully scanned then ready to view in the evening!
April 20, 2002 listening to 'the best of everything but the girl' this girl tracey thorn has one hell of a voice. she doesn't have the range of someone like mariah, but it just oozes with the right amount of vibe & sensuality. hehe. i remember hearing 'tracey in my room' over a big sound system for the first time & when the first break came on, everyone in the room had their hands in the air & whistling, then the beat drops & everyone starts screaming on top of waving their hands in the air & whistling. then the vocal drops & i just become speechless - all i could manage was a huge grin for about 5 mins & thinking that hey, every one in here must be genuininely having a good time right now. i never feel that shit at r&b clubs. why dammit, why!
yesterday wasn't too good, had a huge headache which lasted for about 7 hours. it would've been longer if i hadn't slept so early. it affected my pool game & drinking ability at happy hour. on top of that, the razorbacks lost in the grand final! i was also shopping around with a friend in the perfume section at grace brothers. that probably did not help the headache matter either. she was finding a present for her boyfriend because it's their one month today. normally that's not such a weird thing, but it is when she's the girl i've secretly admired for god knows how long. & she tells me that the guy doesn't even remember it's been one month. grrr.. she deserves more than that.
i'm going to a 21st tonight. i don't even know who it is though :/ should be interesting anyhoo =D
April 18, 2002
someone invites me for drinks & i turn it down opting to go home instead. something is wrong with that picture huh? nevermind, i'll make up for it at tomorrows happy hour. i'll be so blind i'll probably end up at katoomba again on the way home & alcohol will be sweating out of my pores. hehe. just kidding. yes elaine i am. i'm gonna be a good boy, besides, i have to be at my friends place by 7:30 to check out the razorbacks/sixers decider. go you pigs!
looking forward to this sunday. if plans haven't changed i should be going on a little trip to the hunter valley. i'm excited! & not because wine will probably be involved. it's because my friends are making plans for their wedding & they'll be checking out some places to hold the reception.
20 more minutes until friday. 3 more working hours until weekend.
the new office it's actually better than i thought. the walls still smell of fresh paint, there's a hell of a lot more space than the other hell-hole, & because we're spread out now its become a lot quieter. its what i've imagined an office 'working' environment to be like. & they got us these security passes that you wear around your neck to make ourselves look important.

poor asher d. rofl. some good news on the garage scene in sydney. rhythm fm have another uk garage/2step show on this time on saturdays 2pm-4pm. premium selection with sheen & guest dj's/mc's. so either tune in to 87.6fm in sydney or check the live stream at their site. seeeelecta!
another 'last night' thing.. gave myself the biggest scare ever on the way back to the train station. i'm fumbling through my bag looking for the train ticket & i realise that my wallet is missing. so im emptying out all the contents of my bag in vain & having all these negative thoughts in my head & swearing at myself because just a couple of hours ago i withdrew $200 from the freakin bank! i felt like a complete bum. my phone wasn't working, had 20c in my pocket & im walking along george street with my eyes set on the ground as if i was looking for spare change. i re-traced my steps back to a restaurant where i was having dinner with a friend earlier on & surely enough it was there, sitting on the table where my idiotic self left it! someone hit me with a pillow for being so irresponsible. there were already some other people sitting there & i coulda hugged the guy who kept the wallet (& all its contents), but then again i didn't want him pressing charges, so i shook his hand instead.
for the third time, my outgoing calls on the mobile has been blocked. i'd advise anyone against going on a $5 plan. it might seem cheap but the call charges will kill ya. can't wait until pay day next week, i'm finally on the casual payroll (instead of being a temp). what that means is i'm getting paid more :) agc is also hot on my heels with overdue payments. some dude actually called up the other night asking when i was going to pay it - hopefully i'll get time during the lunch break or something. what's worse than having no money is when you're working & still don't have any. quite embarassing really!
anyway, i think i've pissed off a friend because i had a smoke (or two) in her presence. the day she sees me smoking is the day she would stop caring, she said. well, i'll just have to see how long this silent treatment is going to last for.
it's 4am on a friday & i have strike fm keeping me company. i gotta do something better with myself :p
April 10, 2002
the office is kind of chaotic at the moment. you see we're getting ready for the big move - well it's only about 200 metres up the road, but hey, we're finally moving out of the current hell-hole! straight into another one! there is one thing to look forward to though. on either side of the new location is a cafe, subway, hungry jacks, mcdonalds & K.F freakin C!! what will i have for lunch? a different one for each day sounds good..
i found myself a really good deal today. was in an op shop & found a levis jacket for $25. what a bargain. & it fit perfectly. was almost as if it was waiting for me to buy it. the shit people throw away huh?
April 09, 2002
don't people realise when they are over staying their welcome? dammit, it's a work night but i did my friend a favour by letting him listen to some of my mp3's. instead, he turns the music up loud, decides to use my turntables - wrecking the stylus in the process, cusses his head off while everyone's trying to get to sleep not to mention taking off with my dvd's! he finally left at 1am. ahh, i'll get over it.
i had a crappy few games of pool at bar ace today. ever since saturday night, i've been scarred for life by an embarassing loss. the dude broke & proceeded to sink all of his balls without missing a shot. i didn't even have enough time to chalk my cue. if you lose without sinking one in, you're supposed to do a lap around the table in your undies. lucky he did not know that haha. anyway, i suppose i'll get over that too.
April 07, 2002 listening to sia - judge me (siksense remix) the top three reasons why alcohol is possibly running through my veins. 03.cowboys (butterscotch shnapps & baileys) 02.beer (corona, heineken, vb) 01.bourbon & coke (that's bourbon, mixed with coke).
i was just thinking about how often i go to happy hours & how much i drank last night. the scary thing is i wasn't even that tipsy. i am becoming immune to the alcohol! apparently, drinking improves my pool game though.
gosh darnit, in the mix forums are down so i can't lurk. was just looking through their huge archive of photos & came across this mad shot. must be something about the lighting on this one..
i didn't think it would be possible. but i did it! clubbing for four nights in succession. started with blue fantasy on wednesday, then blue butterfly (what's the deal with the colour blue), forbidden city on friday night & finally booty bar/xxl last night. i am officially sick of r&b music. i am officially sick full stop. almost got run over by a car because i was half asleep on the way to work. no more going out for a while now since my friends are going back to uni - at least i can catch up on some sleep :) i am now going to wrap myself in a blanket & find a corner.
check out lawrence's page for blue fantasy & butterfly pics. i think i spotted myself in one of them.
April 05, 2002 at work this feels like the longest friday ever. cigarettes, coffee, red bull, sewing back eye lids to keep them open - none of them are working! must.. slee..zzz
i had to sit myself to watch requiem for a dream again after jennifer connelley's performance in a beautiful mind. this movie is intense, to sum it up in one word. it's better than any other anti-drug campaign i've ever seen. it's also the most twisted love story i've seen. the lengths people will go through to get their 'fix', & just how fast the downward spiral of addiction & prostitution will take you. some of it isn't easy to stomach - the last ten or so minutes i was just about ready to press stop but i had to see how it ended. ellen burstyn plays a heartbreaking role as the diet pill addicted loner :( i also loved the technical aspects of it - & it wouldn't have been complete without the kronos quartet either. anyway, i think i've already talked about this a long time ago but it's still recommended!!
easter sunday didn't exactly go to plan. i missed out on seeing dj storm at premium & the other options on the night just was not worth it. so instead, my friends and i are saving all our energy (and pick up lines) for a clubbing fest next week starting on thursday night. haha. the things you do when you're bored huh? i suppose a good thing to come out of being bored is i've started to pick up the guitar again. trying to learn now & forever by richard marx. yes, its come from a sudden burst of inspiration - something that i've been lacking for a while.
