the wicky wicky week end
in short: went to a graduation dinner at montezumas on friday. it's a mexican joint in parramatta with nice food, slow service, cool atmosphere & yummy sangria =D

saturday was interlude night with the quality time peoples. i think the first club night i went to was organised by them so it was good to see them put together another party! disappointed that i had to leave at about 2:30 but i shouldn't complain when i'm constantly getting lifts off people :/ & it was the night someone posed the question: will there ever be a time when we go out without having to drink alcohol?

if you want to try it, you're on your own i said.

sunday - the night that i've been hanging out for all week. paul dempsey at the metro. it was the last day of his solo tour. i was expecting big tings. since i was going there by myself i convinced some people to at least have a couple of drinks with me before going in. i must have annoyed them with my constant "is it 9 o'clock yet?" question. sebas & ti had a little tiff & left early. so i was stuck with *her* for a good hour or so. & damn it was good to catch up - just talking shit & having a laugh. i can't remember the last time we sat down & just talked. i think before her boyfriend came into the picture ahaha! he's cool though, he gives us free pool at the bar he's working at :p oh yeah, i was supposed to talk about the concert huh? well. let me just say that it was a great night. i find that i have more respect for his work as an artist now that i've heard him live. he's a great dude with a great voice who makes great music. hehe. my favourite song of course was pinstripe. sent shivers down my spine moit! paul dempsey rocks - hopefully i'll get to see him with the rest of the band some other time. ill have a mini type review thing when i get some pics developed.

i seriously want to go & see paul dempsey (of something for kate) at the metro. it's just him & his guitar. & hearing the acoustic versions of 'captain' & 'pinstripe' live would just about do it for me. i don't care if i'm going by myself on this one.

picture this: boys dressed up in overalls, suspenders & knee-high socks. the girls with their little dresses & pippi-longstocking type hair. the wiggles & 'horse crazy' posters plastered all over the wall. musical chairs, pass the parcel, fairy bread & chocolate crackles. it's how every 21st party ought to be! big ups rody for turning 21 & for the great idea hehe. it was fun - in an 8-12 year old sort of way. my only complaint is i left my party bag on the table.

in a totally unrelated matter. swr fm is going back on air in june. & that means i'm gonna be back with exkluziv! all the broadcaster have to attend a 'media law' briefing before being allowed on air. apparently the station is being sued because of someone's on-air antics but i'll have to find out more about it next monday when the meeting's on. can't wait!

watched attack of the clones. i've never seen any of the other star wars but this was boring. i fell asleep twice hehe. the special effects are nice & everything but the dialogue seemed forced & waay tacky - especially the lines anakin is trying to pull on the senator (wouldn't blame him for trying though!). anakin sky-macker man..

but you know what, yoda kicks ass - just watching the fight scene involving him & count dooku or whatever his name is - almost made it worth paying $10.50 for.

was bored so i did a quick mix this morning. it's really crap in places but i like the tracklist & it's something i'd like to use as a foundation for a proper 60 minute mix. it's dedicated to my mum. happy mothers day! :p

freakin shitty rail & their track work.

went to bankstown yesterday to help with star day. we sold a bunch of stuff to raise money for the starlight foundation. i was worried people wouldn't take us seriously considering we didn't even have the proper starlight shirt, but i think we did pretty well still. got myself a stress star..w00t =D

got back home, had 30 minutes to get changed & go to the city for a graduation dinner. it was at a japanese restaurant called zenbu - next to the imax at darling harbour. too pricey for me, but the atmosphere rocks. the seating arrangement is really weird, like you're sitting in some sort of ditch. & also, people walk around giving head & shoulder massages. why doesn't kfc do that huh?

after that, had to run & attend a 21st back in toongabbie. going to all these places was starting to make me dizzy. it was cool though, there were plenty of free drinks, & free entertainment by drunk & disorderly people. pissed cunts!!

anyway, because of the track work, by the end of the day i had caught a total of 3 trains & 6 connecting buses :(

to think that one.tel forgot about my outstanding phone bill once they went *kaput*. i come home to find a letter from 'impact financial services' who are collecting on behalf of THE LIQUIDATORS. they sound evil. they still remembered my $35.88.. how sweet.

bought more cd's today! sia - healing is difficult & 'deeper' from the hedkandi series. twelve bucks for a double cd. praise be to second hand cd stores.

i bought alicia keys' cd yesterday, just listening to it now & it's shweeet. the best part's the interlude - her rendition of brian mcknights 'never felt this way' & 'butterflyz' right after it.

as if the guestbook wasn't enough. now there are more ways to interact on the site! after all, it wouldn't hurt to have some feedback from the 4 or so visitors that frequent everyday :p seriously, i just added it because i was bored. every time sunday rolls past, i get bored. everyone else normally goes to church so i got the whole house to myself for a couple of hours. i use that time to turn the speakers up & jam on my turntables. on any other day, i'd be told to shut up. they are so not supportive of my hobbies :p

anyway, that's the total amount of practise i get these days. sometimes i wonder whether to sell the damn things or not because it's costing me a shitload, but i can't let go of them. i'm gonna go & do some recording.

it's been a pretty long day. after work i headed out to the bourbon & beefstake bar for sebas' birthday surprise. stuffed myself with a big ass t-bone steak with a little bit of room left over for chocolate cake. then went to some place called buddha bar to play pool & have a drink. man kings cross is full of weirdo's.. not going back there unless absolutely necessary.

eventually met up with other bums at bar ace to talk shit & play more pool. total alcohol consumption for the night = one bourbon & coke, one heineken!!! /me is proud :p

hmm. besides having my own issues to deal with, there are relationship problems that people around me are finding themselves in. i just hope that they will all work out for the best soon.

BWAHAHA i take that last post back. !$!!!``11 by some freak chance my friend had a spare ticket so i had no hesitation in takin it. i guess i was *destined* to be there - badaboom! hah :p

i must make a conscious to see more live bands. they did the whole un-plugged treatment to their songs & it sounded pretty good. & we all know they're great singers but i couldn't help but think there was something lacking last night, i jsut can't pin point it!!11. anyway, we're trying to sneak in again tonight. wish us luck.
